All rides start and finish at 12th and Yampa streets. A group start for all rides will leave at 7:00 am with a police escort. This will ensure a safer ride for all and adds to the fun!
Route 1
The Classic Tour de Steamboat-110 or so miles…
All rides start and end at the corner of 12th and Yampa street (Little Toots park). There will be a group start at 7:00 for all riders with a police escort along river road to highway 40.
Aid 1
The first aid station is at mile marker # 154 on the East Summit, 20 miles from the start.
Proceed on Highway 40.
Cut off Time: 10:30 am
Aid 2
The second aid station is at mile marker # 172, 37.5 miles from the start. Proceed 6 miles
to State Highway 134, turn right and ride up Gore Pass. This entire section has very little
shoulder. Please ride single file and no pace lines. Cut off Time: 12:00 Noon
Aid 3
The third aid station is at the top of Gore Pass, 54 miles from the start. Proceed on
Highway 134.
Cut off Time: 2:30 pm
NOTE: On Highway 134 there are 3 cattle guards and 1 set of railroad tracks.
The first cattle guard is at mile 60.2 from the start, the second is 62.3 from the
start, and the third is 65.2 from the start. The railroad tracks are 69.4 from
the start.
Aid 4
Turn right onto Highway 131 to the fourth aid station, 70 miles from the start at the Toponas Store. The store will be open and selling many goodies in addition to our aid station, stop in!
Cut off Time: 3:30 pm
At 79 miles into the ride is the Town of Yampa, and at 84.3 miles is the Town of Phippsburg.
Aid 5
At 86.2 miles from the start, turn right onto Routt Co Rd 14. At mile 90 from the start is the fifth and last aid station. Turn right on Routt Co Rd 16 and into the Stagecoach Wetlands Parking Area.
Cut off Time: 5:00 pm
The finish
The finish area for all routes is 12th and Yampa Street. Finish line closes at 6:30 pm
Route 2
The Stagecoach Out-n-back – 40 miles
New for 2008, this route follows the Yampa river upstream to the Stagecoach reservoir where riders can rest at the Stagecoach aid station before turning around and sharing the route back to the finish with the Tour de Steamboat riders back to the Finish. Don’t be fooled, this route does have some climbing along the way, with a traverse of the Yellow Jacket pass. Final mileage and elevation profiles will be posted at a later date.

Route 3
The Family friendly Yampa Valley Core Trail
Make this ride as short or as long as you want. The core trail connects Old Town to the Steamboat Ski Area. It is a multi-use paved trail, perfect for taking the kids for an easy pedal. We will have a lemonade stand along the trail for Young and old alike to enjoy refreshment along the way. Stops include playgrounds, the river, trails for hiking, restaurants, ice cream or places to rest for a bit. This route is free for all to enjoy.
