Route 2

The Stagecoach Out-n-back – 40 miles

This route follows the Yampa river upstream to the Stagecoach reservoir where riders can rest at the Stagecoach aid station before turning around and sharing the route back to the finish with the Tour de Steamboat riders back to the Finish. Don’t be fooled, this route does have some climbing along the way, with a traverse of the Yellow Jacket pass. Final mileage and elevation profiles will be posted at a later date.
All rides start and end at the corner of 12th and Yampa street (Little Toots park). There will be a group start at 7:00 for all riders with a police escort along river road to highway 40. We would like everyone to be riding by 8:00 am to minimize bike traffic on this dual use route.
Stagecoach Aid Station
The only aid station is at Stagecoach reservoir , 20 miles from the start/finish.

Route 3
New for 2010 is the Sidney Peak Ranch ride.

This ride starts downtown Steamboat Springs in the same location as the other rides. It travels the same route following River Road to Highway 40, turning off on Highway 131 towards Oak Creek and follows this wide shouldered road about 6 miles to CR 14 where the rider turns right following CR 14 for less than 1 mile, then turn left onto the Sidney Peak Ranch property. From here the road is quiet, smooth and all yours for an out and back loop of 9 plus miles. Riders return from this loop turning left onto via CR 14 after leaving the Sidney Peak Ranch property. Riders return to Steamboat Springs following CR 14 and finally River Road to the start/finish area. There is one aid station at the top of the Sidney peak turn around approximately 13 miles form the start.
